If you have been down to Warner beach lately you would have noticed a huge effort being made to rehabilitate the dune directly in front of the railway bridge. As a result of heavy traffic and weather, this sand dune had lost all its vegetation and it was no longer stable. This resulted in sand encroaching over the road to the point where it had to be graded every few weeks. By restoring vegetation to the dune, it will then grow upwards and not move horizontally inland after every strong wind. We appeal to the public to allow the vegetation to restore itself over the wind breaks and for it once again to become a pristine home to all the indigenous flora and fauna. This project is being managed by ‘Clean Surf Project’, a local NPO that we are supporting.
